Note: this list is not up to date, I need to add some more. But the books mentioned here are definitely worth reading!

Below some books that shifted my way of thinking, saved me weeks or months of time of working the wrong way or on the wrong things, gave me more confidence, made me think bigger and believe in myself, made me earn more money for less work, gave me more free time or made me grow as a person.

These books pay themselves back immediately. What is $20 for a book that can save you months of work? Or that changes your daily habits so you can double efficiency? Or that gives you much more free time? Or that doubles our hourly rate?

Happy reading!

1 – The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich

This book really changed my life. My web and mobile software business Zorros is built following the main principles from this book. I work when and where I want, we have no desks. Moreover, this book made me realize the importance of building up a product business.

2 – The Magic of Thinking Big

What is the difference between top entrepreneurs, CEO’s, government leaders, artists … and the “ordinary man”? Why is it that some people have lots of self confidence, are attracting success and money as a magnet, without any fears or obstacles, win respect everywhere, are very popular, while others live like a gray mouse? They dare to think big. This book was another eye opener for me.

3 – Rich Dad Poor Dad: What The Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not!

This book explains how rich people think and how you can start thinking like they do. It advocates financial independence through investing of your time and money wisely, real estate, owning businesses, and increasing one’s financial intelligence. I got a lot out of it.

4 – Start Small, Stay Small

A must read for software developers that have the ambition to bootstrap their product company. The book is 100% focussing on bootstrapping products and written for developers.

5 – Rework

6 – Getting real

7 – The Power Of Habit
